EBSA 21st Presentation: Biological Validation of Continuous Flow Effluent Decontamination Systems
Effluent decontamination systems can be designed as a batch or continuous flow process. These thermal biowaste inactivation systems are intended to reduce the hazards or risks associated with discharge or exposure to the biological material present. With increased emphasis on higher risk materials and increased regulations concerning effluent the need for biological validation of the process has become more critical.
While commercially-available bioindicators are routinely used for gas and large volume batch liquids, continuous flow liquid biowaste systems pose unique challenges. This discussion addresses these challenges and reviews methods to allow user-friendly, routine biological validation at reasonable costs.
Gary Schmidt, PRI Bio Manager of Products and Process Technology, will be presenting at the 21st European Biosafety Association (EBSA) conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. Already attending the show? Join us at the Mayor Lecture Hall Thursday, April 19th, at 1:30 pm.
